Physically Correct Metals for Blender 5.0
This is a simple Quality of Life asset that ease out setting up physically correct values to Metallic BSDF shader in Blender 5.0 and forward.
I retrieved the IOR and Extinction coefficient values for RGB channels from the https://refractiveindex.info and made a Node Group that has a Menu Switch to easily set up Metallic BSDF shader with values of common metals: Aluminium, Brass, Copper, Gold, Iron, Lead, Mercury, Platinum, Silver Titanium and Stainless Steel.
Nothing super fancy, but if you want to save 15-45 min of our time, then you might want to get this practical asset. Instead of copying and pasting values from Refractive Index or old scenes, you can just select the metal you want from the dropdown menu.
Important NOTE: Works Only from Blender 5.0 forward.
How to Install and Use:
Copy the provided asset file to some of your Asset Library folder, or create a new folder.
You can see and add Asset Library folders in Preferences under File Paths.
After that you can Add the Physical Metals node same way as any other nodes.
Asset Library .blend file with Physical Metals asset exposed and example Scene file.
